Our aspiration is to prepare “self actualized theatre and cinema makers.” In other words,we believe that students are most likely to succeed when they understand completely the theoretical, historical, and practical elements of the theatre. Additionally, we find it essential that students grasp the traditions that created and continue to sustain our art form. We create a careful balance between classroom instruction and practical experiences.
In the Department of Theatre and Cinema, students develop their individual talents. They learn about the most advanced technology and the latest theatre thinking. We reach beyond the conventional methodologies; we explore contemporary and emerging methods and their impact on traditional viewpoints. The production program provides a creative forum where theories learned in the classroom are applied and augmented.
